Commercial got their pre-season off to a flyer with this unexpected friendly. Previously know as Leeds SDA, Multifaith showed alot of improvments since the the last two meetings between these two in which they have shipped in over ten goals. The first half was dominted by the Commercial, with their crisp passing football a joy to watch. Chances were being created at will but the finishing lacked sharpness. That was until last season's Top Scorer Chris Jones latched onto Antony Jones's through ball to roll the ball pass the keeper onto the foot of the post and then knock in the rebound. Commercial doubled their lead shortly afterwards when Chris Jones again latched onto a through ball, this time from Lee Downie, to calmly round the goalkeeper and slide the ball into the empty net to give the home side a deserved 2-0 half time lead. Multifaith came out more determined in the second half and made alot of changes and looked alot stronger, leading to their early second half goal to get themselves back into the game. Multifaith pressed throughout the second half but the Commercial defence stood firm, although they had to really on Captain Antony Jones to clear the ball off the line three times. Despite all this pressure the Commercial could still have added to their lead and continued to play some good football under immense presure. All in all it was a good test for the Commercial and should stand them in good stead for the rest of pre-season and the season to come.
