2-2
Multifaith

In another inpromptued game, Commercial huffed and puffed their way to a draw against their lively opponents in sweltering heat. In contrast to the previuos game it was Multifaith who got off to the better start, playing some fast flowing football. But against the run of play a fine break away goal saw the Commercial take the lead. The move went quickly from defence to attack. Antony Jones played it wide to the ever willing Matt Varley, who then played a sweeping ball down the line to the feet of Jono harding. He took the ball in his stride and swung in a pin-point cross from the right touch line to Chris Jones, who after having his first shot was blocked from close range, had the ball hit him in the face, along with the goalkeeper's foot, to score the opening goal. Multifaith quickly replied with a goal of their own with a low angled drive from the left of the penalty area.

The second half saw the Commercial start the better of the two sides and they started to play some very good football. Manager Gary Simon's team talk and half time changes seemed to have done the trick and again the Commercial took the lead with another flowing move from defence to attack, again involving Matt Varley, Antony Jones and Jono Harding. It again started with a ball wide to Matt Varley on the left from Antony Jones, who then received the return ball before switching play to the right wing to Jono Harding. He then dropped the ball back inside to Antony Jones and span off for the return ball. This ball arrived, splitting the centre half and the full back and Jono Harding again swung in the cross, this time onto the foot of debutant Nick Sutcliffe to fire home low into the corner. Again the lead was short lived. Again a surging run from one of the Multifaith attackers led to Antony Kirby firing past his own keeper after trying to cut out the run.

All in all a good work out for the Commercial, which saw impressive debuts for Goalkeeper Kieran Sutcliffe and Nick Sutcliffe, and Adi Dodsworth settled in well at the back after joining late last season.
