Commercial HQ Match Report

       Commercial were back in cup action again this time in the Presidents Trophy and they booked their place in Round 3 with a strong performance against their Division 3 neighbours. Commercial took an early lead when Jono Harding crossed from the right for Chris Jones to slide the ball home. This lead was quickly doubled. Jono Harding was again involved, this time providing Jody Rowe with the chance to score his first Commercial goal. He obliged, slotting past the keeper into the far right hand corner of the net. The lead could have been extended on a few occastions, Antony Jones's control and first time volley went just wide and Matty Simon's "MARADONA" like run from just inside his own half resulted in just a corner. South Leeds City did drag themselves back into the game close to half time after so average defending by the home side.

       Clarity was restored though in the second half as Jody Rowe slotted home his second into an empty net after being found by Paul Simon, and Nick Sutcliffe came off the bench to score a good lob from the edge of the box after Matty Simon had played him through on goal. Commercial again could had added to their lead when Antony Jones should the good "foot skill" before firing over. But all in all it was a strong performance as Commercial continue to improve after a slow start to the season.
