Commercial HQ Match Report

       It was a below par peformance from the home side this week after last weeks win, resulting in a heavy defeat, although 6 goals against did flatter the away side. Wellington quickly pressed home their advantage with 2 goals in the first 5 minutes as the Commercial still seemed to be at home in bed. This did wake up the home side and they had dragged themselves level by half time. Ryan McGee's long ball was flicked on by Paul Simon and the Wellington defender turn the ball home over the advancing goalkeeper to get the home side back into the game. The equaliser quickly followed. Antony Jones won the ball in the midfield and feed Matty Simon, who quickly switched play wide to the right. Paul Simon picked up the ball and looked to cross, but although he claims it was a shot, the cross went like an arrow into the top left hand corner.

       Wellington quickly restored their lead early in the second half. Commercial huffed and puffed for the rest of the second half, Chris Jones had one cleared off the line, a Matty Simon cross was cleared from the feet of Chris Jones and Adi Dodsworth hit the away cross bar. But in their attempts to get back into the game Wellington hit Commercial on the break 3 times in the final 10 minutes. Although the margin was 4 goals, Commercial did not deserve to lose by that many but it was clear that improvments need to be made.
