Commercial HQ Match Report

       A below par Commercial were sent crashing out of the Presidents Trophy at the semi-final stage against their lower league opponents, although on this showing they will soon be playing at a much higher level. Pudsey coped better with the windy condition and quickly took a two goal lead in the first 20 minutes. Commercial battled hard for the remainder of the half and looked to be going in only 2 goals down, but Wayne Jubb handled in the box and the half time score was 3-0.

       Commercial dragged themselves back into the game quickly in the second half, as first Matty Simon fired low into the left hand corner from the edge of the box after Paul Simon feed him the ball. Matty Simon was then fouled in the box and he converted the penalty and the cup tie was a contest again. But as quickly as the Commercial got back into the game they were out of it again as Pudsey fired home two quick goals, one an own goal from Adi Dodsworth, and the game was as good as over. Captain Antony Jones did find the net late in the game, slotting home at the near post from Rob Atkinson's pass, but it was too late to affect the outcome of the game and this years cup run was over.
