Commercial HQ Match Report

       Commercial completed their league season with a defeat in this re-arranged game, after the first game was abandoned due to a horrific injury to Commercial player Jono Harding. As with the first game Acorn were quickest out of the blcoks and were quickly two goals up. But Commercial fought back strongly when first Colin Green headed home Chris Jones's corner, then Chris Jones slotted home his 18th of the season from Ryan Mcgee's through ball which was helped on its way by Paul Simon's flick.

       Commercial looked to build on this comeback and Nick Sutcliffe had the chance to give the home side the lead from the penalty spot after an Acorn player handled in the box, but his penalty hit the bar. Commercial were then qucikly deflated by two very dubious Acron goals, both of which were clearly offside. Ryan Mcgee fired home at the near post after being put in by Antony Jones's through ball to get the home side back in the game. But as Commercial pressed for the equaliser they again fell fowl to another clearly offside goal to put the result to bed. Despite this defeat commercial achieved their highest league position in their short history and hopefully will have done enough for the second promotion in 3 seasons.
