Commercial HQ Match Report

       A below par performance from the Commercial saw them crash out of the Leeds FA District Cup in the first round. Commercial competed well until New Rover flighted in a right wing free kick, which was finished off un-challenged at the far post. More bad defending led to the second goal as the New Rover player three times had an effort at goal un-challenged, with the third effort going in.

       A rollocking was the order of the day at Half Time from the Gaffer Gary Simon, but this had a negative effect as New Rover increased their lead with some more sloppy defending. Commercial hit back straight away though. Matty Simon shot from the kick off, Chris Jones followed in for any mistakes by the keeper, which happened and the ball was slotted home into the empty net. Next a flowing move involving Matty Simon, Antony Jones and Jono Harding led to Chris Jones hitting the outside of the post and then Antony Jones went close with his angled chip coming back off the bar as the Commercial pressured the visitors as they looked to get back into the game. Commercial were then awarded a late penalty when Antony Jones was fouled in the penalty area but Chris Jones fired wide of the target. Back to the league next week against Original Oak and a much improved performance is needed.
