Commercial HQ Match Report

       Commercial's poor league form continued today after some impressive cup perfirmances, twice letting the lead slip. Jono Harding fired the away side into the lead. He latched onto Matty Simon's long throw to lob an angled shot into the far right hand corner from the edge of the box.

        The first half was a half of few chances, but the first chance of the second half was clinically taken. Chris Jones was put back up front and this immediatly paid dividens. His physical presence won Commercial a free kick. Matty Simon stepped up and curled to ball high into the top right hand corner. Then que a mad five Commercial minutes. First Jono Harding gave away a penalty which was conerted and then Kieran Sutcliffe fumbled a cross right to the feet of the on rushing home striker and within a blink of a eye the scorers were level. But with five minutes remaining Commercial looked to have snatched all three points. The combination of Matty Simon and Chris Jones again showed why these two strikers have scored 77 goals between them in the last two seasons, with some neat build up play on the edge of the box before Matty Simon rounded the goalkeeper from Chris Jones's pass and slotted home into an empty net. But with seconds left Commercial failed to clear a corner far enough and failed to press the onrushing home player to block his shot, and when it did reach a Commercial player, Antony Jones, he was unsited until the last moment and could only diviert the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the net via his head and right arm.

       So you would think a point against second in the league would be a point earned but in reality it was 2 points thrown away, but it is progress into right direction which is a plus point.
