Acorn
5-4
Commercial HQ

It was back to league action again and it was the same old story for the Commercial as again they fell short in a relegation 6 pointer. They were in front after only a minute when an Acorn defender handled in the area and Matty Simon stepped up to score from the resulting penalty. But within 5 minutes the home side turned the game on its head with 2 quick fire goals to go 2-1 to the good. Commercial pullied on the pressure and finally found the equaliser. Jono Harding fired against the post, but the rebound fell straight back to him and he squared the ball for Matty Simon to slot home for his second of the game.

Commercial quickly found themselves 3-2 down early in the second half, when the ball bounced like a Shane Warne Off-Spin ball to leave Kieran Sutcliffe helpless as he came out to collect a through ball and the stirker tapped the ball past him and into the goal. Commercial again fought back. The returning Dan Driver, who worked tirelessly throught out the game, swung in a fine cross which Chris Jones managed to get a touch to and the ball slowly cross the line, JUST!. This time video evidence was not needed! But again Acorn regained the lead with an unstooppable 25 yard curling shot. But then back came Commercial. Ryan Mcgee won the ball on the edge of his own box and he played a pass into the feet on Jono Harding on the left, he quickly slipped Matty Simon in on goal, who made no mistake, firing home hard and low into the near post. But with time running out Commercial failed to clear a corner and the resulting ball from the Acron right into the box was turned home with a firm first time volley at the far post. If Commercial show the fighting spirit they showed in coming back three times then they should soon be rising up the table. But silly mistakes need to be cut out as the number of games gets less!
